AN EXPLORATION OF DISTANCE & DIRECTIONALITY
Up(heaval), choreographed by Kelly Cinalli and Colleen Walsh Cecchi, was developed in residency at Ursinus College in collaboration with thirteen members of the Ursinus College dance company. The work was created for a stage, but due to COVID-19, has been reimagined for a virtual existence.
The roots of Up(heaval) began at Luminarium's Choreofest in June of 2019 (Boston, MA). The work draws from Kelly and Colleen's athletic backgrounds which deepend through study at Ursinus, and utilizes an audio recording of an excerpt from the Jack Kerouac autobiographical novel "On The Road" read by former chaplain of Ursinus College, Reverend Charles Rice. The recording was created for What Falls Away, choreographed by Cathy Young at Ursinus College in the spring of 2011.
